Season's greetings from Pragma
It seems that 2019 may well be remembered as the year of the most significant political upheaval for a generation, from Westminster to Washington. One that has also delivered tremendous change on our high-streets as long-established brands rationalised their estates or even closed their doors.
However, with change comes opportunity, and at Pragma we continue to be amazed and inspired by the outcome of the collective efforts of investors, architects, designers, brands and operators, in creating innovative new concepts that materially enhance our quality of life and experience.
From the visionary environmental wonders of The Jewel at Singapore Changi Airport, to the aspirational collection of culture, commerce and cuisine at New York's Hudson Yards, 2019 has seen our industry reach new heights in retail innovation and development place making. Early eating out trends pioneered by the likes of Street Feast have led to prime downtown establishments such as Market Halls, and digital evolution has inspired in-store and sustainability revolution, by brands like The Reformation.
Pragma's core proposition is to empower positive impact for our colleagues, clients, community and planet, and we are fortunate to have been involved in projects this year ranging from leading global hub airports to island tourist destinations; shopping centre re-generation to city centre innovation.
From London to New York, Mumbai to Toronto, Brazil to Jamaica, we continually see examples where clients that we work with take new strides in creating a better customer experience and enhancing commercial value, through a collective effort to deliver a positive impact.
Despite the uncertainty and challenge that has arisen from the interconnected world, we can safely say that the quality of experience and retail innovation over the past decade to 2019 has been far beyond anything we might have imagined in 2009.
We are very excited about the new opportunities that 2020 will bring to connect people, products and places, and would like to extend a sincere thank you for supporting Pragma over the past ten years and beyond.
We have once again made a seasonal donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards to Back Up, our charity partner, who transform lives after spinal cord injury.
We hope you all have an enjoyable and peaceful festive season and look forward to working with you in 2020.
With best wishes,
Alex Avery
